I have just written my first novel and am working on the second in a series. The novels are set in the beautiful wine region of Bordeaux.

Now mainly micro-blog about wine on Twitter and Facebook with more detailed posts of press visits. Aim is consumer engagement in and demystification of wine. Also promotion of wine tourism,

Travel frequently – main regions of interest and knowledge are Spain particularly Jerez and Catalunya, France particularly Bordeaux, Languedoc and Roussillon also Italy and Argentina.

Current wine specialisms are ‘traditional method’ sparkling wines especially Cava and Champagne also high quality dry rosés.

Set up the wine lists for indie pubs including P/L etc. Many years food matching knowledge and former catering experience.

Promotion ethics: buy most of the wine promoted on social media and usually travel independently. Wine samples received are promoted if they are considered good value and quality. Press visits and wine events attended are acknowledged.

Info Early Bird Wine News Blog – past activities

A current member of the Circle of Wine Writers, I was on the committee between 2012 and 2014. Responsible for updating the website, implementing and co-managing the move onto social media. Organising the new logo competition.

I have many years also designing websites and online editing. Worked as Production Editor and Copywriter in B2B sector.

Other past wine activities have included full judge status at wine competitions. IWC, IWSC, SWWA and Coup de Coeur, France. I was awarded IWSC associate judge of the year in 2011.

Wine qualifications include WSET Diploma level 5 with dissertation on Argentina. Merit in Vini/Viti at Plumpton. Spent two years studying the MW.

I have taught my own wine courses,  run wine events and worked for others. Decanter, Las Bodegas, Sopexa and Argentina Tourist Board.
